Horsham Gingerbread was founded in 2013 by Lesley Ward, in the town of Horsham, West Sussex. Did you know that this ancient town was once famed for its gingerbread production? It was exactly the notion of reviving this fame that drove Lesley to develop her products! Alongside this, her extensive collection of historic, handwritten recipes provided further inspiration. Now, all of the products for the gluten free hampers are baked in small batches at a family-run bakery near Chichester. Furthermore, they only contain the best locally-sourced ingredients, to ensure that all of the gingerbread and savoury biscuits taste as delicious as possible!
Lesley and her family are usually found experimenting with traditional recipes to create the range of savoury and sweet biscuits that go into our gluten free hampers! We have everything from our Sussex Gingerbread Thins, Mix n Match Biscuit Boxes, and our Spicy Sussex Alberts– the perfect biscuits for cheese! Naturally Gluten Free Hampers
We can guarantee that everything in our gluten free hampers tastes delicious! This is all down to our extra-special ingredients. These include locally-grown linseed flour- a naturally gluten free flour that we use in all of our unique biscuits! Furthermore, we also use black treacle or local honey to ensure they’re sweet, and provide a great replacement for gluten!
In addition, we make our original recipe, which is not gluten free due to the local wholemeal flour, separately from all of our other products, to ensure your peace of mind and safety.
