Set back from the road, overlooking part of the common, Dunsfold village shop has a lovely, old fashioned look and feel to it.
The shop has been owned by the local community since 2011. As a community enterprise, they feel it is important to support the community in as many ways as possible. One of the main ways is to employ local people. They currently have 5 local members of staff who work in the shop, and students who join them on their university breaks.
It is a popular stop-off for cyclists, who can enjoy a sandwich and a bar of Horsham Gingerbread!

Bakehouse HQ Happenings

Our oldest hen celebrated another birthday milestone (for a hen) on 20th April 2022, as she reached the grand old age of 11!

We have quite a few elderly birds, but she is our biggest and oldest one.

And she is still with us – clearly aiming for the Guinness Book of Records!

As you can see above, she is still a very busy hen!

We had a competition on our Instagram site in 2020, when she was 9, as we felt she deserved to have a name. The winning name was Margaret Hatcher!

We think that the secret to her long life is self-care – she has a very healthy appetite…
